BEST CAREER MOMENT SO FAR
My most notable career moment was receiving four software patents for the technology framework my team developed behind First Orion’s scam solution which protects hundreds of millions of consumers.
HOW I KNEW THIS WAS MY PASSION
I was in the third grade when my parents bought my first computer. That same year I taught myself to code and implemented games to play with my friends. I have been writing software ever since.
MY FIRST JOB AND WHAT IT TAUGHT ME
My first job at 14 taught me the valuable lesson of communicating clearly and adapting to my audience. I worked at a U-Haul rental shop where I met people with different backgrounds who came from all over the country.
NONPROFIT I WISH MORE PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT
I recently toured the facilities of Methodist Family Health and met several people who provide a continuum of care for Arkansas children. They are doing incredible work to improve the outcomes for Arkansas families across our great state.
A SKILL I NEVER EXPECTED TO USE IN THIS FIELD:
I never expected to use so much game theory. At First Orion we have quite literally created multiple industries that did not exist 10 years ago. This requires a culture of “moving to where the puck is going.”
ONE THING I WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT MY COMPANY:
I wish more people knew First Orion, a North Little Rock-based company, is at the forefront of telecommunication innovation that protects hundreds of millions of consumers from scammers and is changing how consumers receive phone calls for the better.
