The leaves are falling, temperatures are dropping and local restaurant and bar menus are changing.

One of our favorite things about fall is how local restaurants and bars utilize seasonal ingredients from nature’s bounty. These new delicious dishes include pumpkin, carrots, apples, pears and other in-season produce that will make you fall in love with the flavors.

Here are a few local restaurants that have rolled out new items for fall:

 

Local Lime

Pumpkin and carnitas tacos -  featuring brown sugar and chile-roasted pumpkin and carnitas topped with mole amarillo, pickled onion, cotija cheese, cilantro and pumpkin seeds. (pictured above)

Pumpkin spice French toast - pumpkin spiced brioche french toast, bourbon spiced maple, orange butter, candied pecans, served with bacon

Sweet potato hash - roasted sweet potatoes, mixed fall greens, peppers, onion, apple, turkey sausage, bacon, red pepper jelly, sunny up egg, biscuit

Eggplant brunch lasagna - layers of eggplant baked with mushroom bolognese, topped with bechamel sauce, parmesan, sunny up egg, served with side salad

Apple pie mimosa - California champagne and cinnamon sugar Arkansas apple simple syrup

Bad apple bourbon - Rocktown bourbon and cinnamon sugar Arkansas apple simple syrup

What’s The Dill Yo? - mussel, white wine, butter, pickled garlic, dill, charred lemon

Fall ice cream - house-made carrot cake ice cream, peanuts, cream cheese whipped cream, garnished with peanuts

 

  

Trio’s

Autumn salad special - arugula, assorted lettuces, roasted yellow and red beets, goat cheese mousse, champagne vinaigrette, sprinkled with mixed nut granola

Warm brie with mango chutney and almonds - served with granny smith apple slices, water crackers

Southern chicken fried chicken - chicken fried boneless chicken breast smothered with Tasso cream gravy, served with smoked gouda mac and cheese, collard greens seasoned with smoked turkey and a piece of cornbread

Autumn vegan bowl - cauliflower rice, shallots, fresh spinach, red cabbage, topped with roasted butternut squash, red onion, portobello mushrooms, spice roasted chick peas, avocado, drizzled with roasted red pepper and tahini dressing with garlic, sherry vinegar & sesame oil

This downtown favorite just announced that it will reopen this weekend after being closed for nearly three months for renovations. Be on the lookout for fall menu teasers on their Facebook and Instagram.

 

Big Orange (Midtown & West Little Rock)

Walking Dead shake - chocolate-cherry shake, oreo cookie crumbs, dark chocolate fudge, cherry syrup drizzle, topped with whipped cream, gummy worms, eyeballs

Game Day burger - black angus patty, whiskey and molasses lacquered Petit Jean Bacon, smoked cheddar cheese, cracked pepper, jalapeno ketchup, house-made onion strings (only available on the days the Razorbacks play)

October is State Fair Month at Big Orange. Both locations will be serving up hand-dipped and fried 44 Farms Hot Dogs served with jalapeno mustard, ketchup, chipotle mayo, Big Orange cheese dip and chili.

 

 

ZAZA (Little Rock & Conway)

Curry Cashew Chicken Salad - curry chicken salad, celery, currants, red and green grapes, fields greens, romaine and spinach topped with a house-made vinaigrette and tandoori seasoning

 

Loblolly Creamery

Pumpkin Spice Shake - pumpkin cheesecake, cold brew coffee from Fidel & Co, whipped cream, and caramel sauce
