There are plenty of local options to inspire a new hobby, learn a new skill and just have fun. You can try out pottery, sewing, screen printing, cooking, jewelry making and more without having to leave the city.

The Muddy Pig

The Muddy Pig is a pottery wheel studio that joined the Little Rock arts scene at the beginning of 2022. Sister studio to The Painted Pig, this new addition offers try-it ceramics classes, summer camps for kids, beginner and intermediate classes for adults and special “clay dates” for couples.

 

The Innovation Hub

The Innovation Hub is a nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire innovation in Arkansas and expand opportunities to create. The Hub’s Argenta facilities provide tools to train entrepreneurs, students and anyone looking to try something new like screen printing, Photoshop, drawing basics and woodcutting.

 

South Main Creative

This hidden gem located in the SoMa district features vintage, handmade and one-of-a-kind goods. South Main Creative offers many creative outlets through monthly classes and workshops. From punch-needle embroidery to knotted rug making, there is always something new to discover at SMC.

This local art studio encourages curiosity and mess-makin’ for everyone, regardless of age. Zig Zag is a place where children and adults can come together to have fun and learn in a creative and open environment. The studio offers weekly after-school classes, summer camps and evening and weekend workshops for adults.

Coming Soon: Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts

The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts will soon be offering classes and workshops designed for all students. From beginners and aspiring artists to skilled creators and everyone in between, the inclusive AMFA Art School will have a variety of classes to sign up for like ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, jewelry, theater, website building and more. Formerly known as the Arkansas Arts Center, the museum won’t be open for classes again until the new building opens next spring.
