There will be no shortage of local produce to enjoy this spring as local markets prepare to open in April.
Back to welcome the changing season for the third time is the Sunshine Market and Plant Sale at Dunbar Garden on Saturday, April 22. Hosted by Paper Hearts Bookstore, the vendor list has a special focus on fellow local, women-owned businesses, featuring everything from jewelry to food trucks.
The lineup includes:
- Emmylou’s Flower Bar
- Bella Vita Jewelry and Gifts
- Posse Paper Goods
- The Green Corner Store
- Daisy Pastry Shoppe
- Lutum Ceramics
- Crying Weasel Vintage
- Howdy Bonita
- + more (music and food trucks to be announced soon)
The fresh community market is scheduled on Earth Day and will be held in tandem with the Dunbar annual plant sale, so be prepared to buy all of the flowers, fruit and handmade goods your arms can carry.
If you are interested in shopping small and supporting your local agricultural community, this "tiny makers" market is the perfect place to jumpstart your garden and your recipes for spring. Grab some sunglasses, a pair of comfortable shoes and an oversized tote. Farmers market season is only just beginning.
The Sunshine Market will be held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. For more information and a full list of vendors, head to the Facebook event page.
