Ballet Arkansas continues its 2021-22 main stage season in fantastical fashion with its first show of the new year, "Coppélia & the Toymaker." The troupe is poised to take the CHARTS Theater stage at UA-Pulaski Tech Feb. 17-20.
Beloved by audiences since it debuted in 1870, "Coppélia & the Toymaker" tells the tale of a magical doll and her creator over three acts full of family-friendly comedy and drama.
"Ballet Arkansas is pleased to present this 'fan favorite' as part of the 2021-22 season," says Michael Fothergill, executive and artistic director. "Featuring a cast of 50 community dancers alongside the professionals of Ballet Arkansas, the production is a community endeavor we can all be proud of."
"Coppélia & the Toymaker" performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday - Saturday, with 2:30 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday. Proof of vaccination or negative COVID test is required for guests 13 and older, and masks are required for all ages.
Ballet Arkansas is also currently gearing up for Confetti, the 10th annual iteration of its signature Turning Pointe Gala on Saturday, March 5, at Wildwood Park for the Arts.
