On Saturday, Oct. 2, 60-plus food trucks and 50-plus other vendors and entertainers will be rolling into downtown Little Rock from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. for the 10th annual Main Street Food Truck Festival.

The Main Street Food Truck Festival is the largest free, annual, public event in downtown Little Rock. The festival boasts cuisines from all over the world, live music and entertainment, retail, arts and craft vendors, children's activities and so much more.

Here are 10 things to know about this year's festival:

1. No cost. The festival is free. There are no tickets and you can come and go as you please.

2. Longer hours. The festival has extended hours this year, running from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

3. Larger footprint. The festival has an expanded footprint this year, running down Main Street from Fourth to Ninth streets and down Capitol Avenue from Louisiana to Rock.

4. Plenty to quench your thirst. This festival isn’t just about food. There are all kinds of beverages available including beer, wine and spirits for those 21 and older.

5. A focus on sustainability. The Main Street Food Truck Festival set a goal to reduce waste by 85% this year. The festival organizers are partnering with Food Loops, Keep Arkansas Beautiful and Coca Cola to use only recyclable food containers and utensils and to compost food waste.

6. Endless samples. The Main Street Food Truck Festival requires its vendors to offer a sample size item that should cost no more than $6. That way you can hit more trucks without filling up as quickly, without wasting extra food and without spending as much.

7. Cash and cards accepted. Cash and card payments will be accepted by all festival vendors. Pro tip: Large bills can be hard for trucks to break. Paying in singles and smaller bills helps the lines move quicker (and the trucks appreciate it). There will be a Centennial Bank Mobile ATM on-site.

8. A whole plaza dedicated to Latin American cuisine. Taco 'bout a dream come true. Each block of the festival will feature a mixture of cuisines and entertainment, except for Fiesta Plaza. At the corner of Sixth and Main, in the parking lot with the koi fish mural, you will find a haven of Mexican food trucks, music, drinks and entertainment specific to Latin American culture.

9. A concert to end the night. The Rodney Block Collective will perform from 6-8 p.m. in Capitol Plaza to close out the 10th year of this amazing festival. There will also be additional live music throughout the day in each block of the festival footprint.

10. Plan ahead and get there early. Before you go, visit the festival website for a map, a list of participating food trucks and a list of all other vendors and entertainers that will be present at the 10th annual Main Street Food Truck Festival.

See you downtown! In the meantime, keep up with the fest on Instagram and Facebook
