We've officially begun the sweet transition from summer to fall, and as September is National Bourbon Heritage Month, we encourage you to sip accordingly with these three cocktails from the mixologists at Colonial Wines & Spirits.

Cheers!

Bourbon Mint Iced Tea

  • 4 parts freshly brewed and chilled black tea (we recommend Abbi's Teas and Things)
  • 2 parts bourbon (we recommend Maker’s Mark)
  • 1 part simple syrup
  • 1/4 parts fresh lemon juice
  • mint and lemon wedge garnish

Muddle mint with simple syrup. In a highball glass, pour bourbon, chilled black tea, muddled simple syrup and lemon juice over ice. Stir and garnish with a fresh mint sprig and lemon wedge.

Bourbon Mule

  • 1 1/2 oz. bourbon
  • 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. aperol
  • 4 oz. ginger beer
  • 3-inch strip orange zest

Fill a copper mug with crushed ice. Add all ingredients, stir well and garnish with orange zest.

Cherries Jubilee

  • 12 fresh cherries
  • 3 oz. bourbon
  • 1/2 oz. lemon juice
  • dash bitters
  • champagne

Muddle cherries and bourbon in a cocktail shaker. Add lemon juice and shake. Pour into two champagne glasses and top with champagne and a dash of bitters.
