Kristie Smith’s Guide to Little Rock

Kristie Smith, principal broker of KSmith Properties Realty and Real Estate Institute instructor, shares her favorite parts of the city.

Never gets old: The hotel that anchors downtown, by any name, currently the Marriott, is one of my favorite places to dress up and go have some fun or dinner. There’s always some cool new update or exhibit in the convention center. It literally never gets old.

Museum: My kids are getting older, but we love the Museum of Discovery. We like to tinker with techie stuff and it’s good to burn off a little energy.

Wardrobe staple: During the summer months I like flowy sundresses and soft clothes
I can be comfortable in and still look professional while working. Tobu Boutique in southwest Little Rock is my favorite for casual summer staples.

Restaurant: Samantha’s Taproom. What can I say, it’s comfort food.

Seasonal activity: Africa Day Festival in SoMa is a new favorite seasonal activity. It’s moved to October this year, but the atmosphere and energy are so beautiful and vibrant. I love it.

Cocktail & dish: My bestie and I like to grab a little “Speedy” from El Porton in Rock Creek for lunch with any fruity frozen cocktail.

Park: The Natural Play Area at War Memorial is a favorite. The kids just kind of grow into the things to do there.

Decor shop: Howse in the Pleasant Ridge Town Center is my absolute favorite for home decor. They keep it fresh, the finds are unique, it’s not over-priced and the people are fun.

An afternoon with friends: Poolside at The Point at Brodie Creek is such a vibe. I always accept when I’m invited.

Recent discovery: The Rock City family of foods! Rock City Kitchen and Rock City Taco and Margarita Bar have definitely been added to my list of favorites.
