Over nearly two centuries, First United Methodist Church has embraced its mission as an urban congregation. If the Civil War, fire and appropriation of property didn’t dislodge FUMCLR from downtown Little Rock, nothing ever will.

First Church is a dynamic community with opportunities for hospitality, service and growth for people of all ages. The church’s vision is “to be good neighbors to make Little Rock a place where children THRIVE.” Everything FUMCLR does as a congregation is about living into that vision.

First Church is always seeking to expand their faith to be good neighbors who love the people around them the way God loves all of us. FUMCLR seeks to put that love into action through acts of service, advocacy and public witness.

Our Vision

Being good neighbors to make Little Rock a place where children thrive.

Our Welcoming Statement

You are a child of God created in the Divine Image. You are welcomed, affirmed and included at First Church, not despite, but because of your age, ability, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity. This is how the Holy Spirit works: when you are welcomed, all are welcomed.
