Brush off your fetching skills, Lassie.

Bark Bar is celebrating its third year (aka its Bark Day) and National Dog Day with a series of fun and socially distant events called the Tournament of Chomp-ions.

The tournament will take place each Saturday in August starting on Aug. 15 and finishing up on Aug. 29, with a medal ceremony bestowing the Golden Bone to the top dog. The winner will receive a lifetime membership to Bark Bar and $100 gift card for its humans. Secondary awards include the "Goodest Pup Award" for best effort and "Best Doggie Gear" for the most impressive outfits.

Here's the Tournament of Chomp-ions lineup:

  • Fetch Chomp-etition Saturday, Aug. 15, 4 p.m.
  • Trick Chomp-etition Saturday, Aug. 22, 4 p.m.
  • Dog Day Chomp-etitors Pawty Wednesday, Aug. 26, 6 p.m.
  • Golden Bone Ceremony Saturday, Aug. 29, 4 p.m.

The competition will take place both in-person and online, with viewers texting in votes to determine the winners. For in-person attendees, tickets are $10 and includes one human and one dog, and $5 for each additional dog or human. The events will also be livestreamed for free to home viewers and voters.

Dogs that compete in both the fetch and trick contests are eligible to win the Golden Bone, but all registered dogs are invited to the party on Aug. 26. Tournament registration is $25 and covers all events, and individual contest registration is $15.

Best of all, a portion of the proceeds benefit the Humane Society. To purchase a ticket or register your dog to compete, visit Woof.BarkBar.com/Chompions.
