In a bummer turn of events, Acansa has cancelled the seventh annual Arts Festival of the South that was slated for Sept. 10-27 in venues across central Arkansas. A June 6 concert featuring Bonnie Montgomery at The Rail Yard has also been cancelled.

“In an effort to help protect the safety of our patrons and the artists who typically travel from across the U.S. and even the globe to join the festival, our organization has determined to cancel the 2020 event. The trajectory of the virus remains an unknown for the coming months, so we are setting our sights on the 2021 festival,” said Dillon Hupp, the executive director.

But it's not all bad news. Acansa will continue its Acansa A(r)T HOME series featuring videos and other digital content in partnership with artists and organizations throughout the state and around the world. Acansa also plans to provide signature events and other creative programming once safety measures are tried and proven to allow artists and community members to gather safely together.
