And now for our favorite weekly assignment. Here are a few of the local stories that put smiles on our faces this week.

Let's start with the delicious. Tacos 4 Life, a cult favorite in these parts, celebrated Teacher & Nurse Appreciation Week this week by passing out free tacos to both. This weekend, The Library Kitchen & Lounge in the River Market is thanking teachers and first responders by giving them free barbecue. More on that here.
UA Little Rock marked National Nurses Day this week by dropping off meals, face masks and goody bags to health care professionals at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary and Saline Memorial Hospital. The school is also celebrating the 50th anniversary of its nursing program this year.
Steven Helmick, the principal of Roberts Elementary School, knew he couldn't let this year's fifth graders graduate from his campus without honoring them in a special way, so he decided to do one of the few things we're allowed to do these days: run. Helmick is running one mile in honor of each of the 173 fifth graders over the course of a month. Read his story here.
This week, the global Giving Tuesday Now campaign encouraged people to donate to the local nonprofits that keep their communities running, and Little Rock showed up big time. Many nonprofits blew past their donation goals with your help, but our favorite part was watching the nonprofits celebrate their own. Watch the video above for a glimpse of how Easterseals Arkansas showed their appreciation to the nurses, teachers and therapists who empower kids and adults with disabilities.
