Opera In The Rock (OITR) is kicking off its 2020-2021 season with a dash of supreme justice. Teaming up with the Clinton Foundation, OITR will present "Scalia/Ginsburg" at the Clinton Presidential Center Aug. 28-30.

The opera was created by Derrick Wang and centers around the unlikely friendship of Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Antonin Scalia. Starring local talents Matthew Tatus and Shannon Rookey in the title roles, the show promises a romping good time inspired by judicial opinions with diverse operatic influences.

“We are thrilled to join Opera in the Rock in presenting 'Scalia/Ginsburg' at the Clinton Presidential Center,” Clinton Foundation Executive Director Stephanie S. Streett said. “It is as entertaining as it is inspirational and reminds us all that friendships can thrive even in a divided world.”

OITR's 2020-2021 season is the first to be produced by the newly appointed artistic director Kate Sain. It is also the second season for OITR as one of 150 professional company members of Opera America and the only opera company in Arkansas with this prestigious designation.
