'Tis the season and Hillcrest is going all out to get you in the holiday mood. During Holidays in Hillcrest, neighborhood shops and restaurants will open their doors for two days of family-friendly Christmas fun Dec. 1-2.

The fun kicks off at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, and coincides with Hillcrest's monthly First Thursday event. Businesses will have lots of holiday specials, music and displays, including a holiday market in the Hodge Orthodontics parking lot, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. at Hill Station and Hocott's Garden Center's annual holiday hayride down Kavanaugh, plus a chance to meet the Grinch.

On night two, come back for the annual Hillcrest tree lighting ceremony at the Allsopp Promenade on Friday, Dec. 2, at 5:30 p.m. Local groups will be on hand to perform holiday tunes, and don't skip out on the cookies and cocoa.

For more info, head to the Holidays in Hillcrest Facebook event page, and follow the Hillcrest Merchants Association on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with neighborhood happenings.
