HIPPY partners with parents to prepare their children for success in school.

MISSION

Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) USA partners with parents to prepare their children for success in school. Trained home visitors share proven techniques with parents that help build school readiness skills and enhance social development.

Recently, HIPPY launched two new curriculums. “HIPPY for Little Learners” expands the model to reach children during the early brain development years, from birth to age 3. “HIPPY for Caregivers” helps close the achievement gap for children without access to quality preschools. Home-based caregivers receive training that fosters an early education environment for children in their care and join with parents to lay a strong foundation for their child’s lifelong learning.

OPPORTUNITIES AND EVENTS

HIPPY USA supports agencies and organizations that serve children and families. Currently, the organization works with 15,000 families in 120 communities in 20 states and D.C. They welcome partnerships that further the organization’s mission, strengthen the HIPPY network and help expand the HIPPY teaching model. Volunteer opportunities include local program partnerships, serving on advisory boards, chairing special events, fundraising and providing professional development for staff and parents. Giving opportunities primarily come through:

The Avima Lombard Society, named after HIPPY USA’s founder, supports research and service to communities through quality programs and skilled staff.

The Miriam Westheimer Rising Speakers Series provides a platform for emerging voices in education at the biennial leadership conference.

• Sponsorships are available now for scholarships and naming opportunities for the 2020 national conference.

• HIPPY USA uses funds from its online HIPPY store to support training and general operations.
