Since 2016, the Historic Arkansas Museum Foundation has sponsored more than 20,000 free field trips for Arkansas schoolchildren from across the state.

MISSION

The Historic Arkansas Museum Foundation raises friends and funds to support the museum’s mission to “communicate the early history of Arkansas and its creative legacy by preserving, interpreting and presenting stories and objects for the education and enjoyment of Arkansans and visitors.”

Since 2016, the foundation has sponsored free field trips for more than 20,000 Arkansas schoolchildren from across the state. The HAM Foundation also supports the museum’s programs and events, including its History is Served dinner series and its monthly 2nd Friday Art Night. The Foundation also raises money to purchase Arkansas-made fine and decorative art for the museum’s collection, saving Arkansas’ cultural and creative legacy for future generations.

FUNDRAISERS AND EVENTS

Held under a tent on the museum’s grounds, the biennial Candlelight Gala is the museum’s biggest fundraiser. This year’s gala on Oct. 5 raises money for the museum’s Bill Worthen Future of History Fund, which supports free field trips for Arkansas schoolchildren. A festive atmosphere and a sumptuous dinner with an Arkancentric meal created by Chef Mary Beth Ringgold, the event also features the most original live and silent auctions in town, emceeing by Broadway Joe of Power92 Jams and live music by Rodney Block, as well as The Almost Famous Duo.

GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Attend the Candlelight Gala on Oct. 5 to celebrate “Becoming Arkansas” and the 200th anniversary of Arkansas Territory.

Become a museum member. It’s one of the best ways to get involved and support the museum. Membership is available at several levels, from entry level to the highest Cornerstone level. Membership supports fun things like 2nd Friday Art Night at the museum.

Leave a legacy. Planned giving is a great way to support your favorite organizations, including HAM, for years to come. And if you like, you can designate your gift to support the Bill Worthen Future of History Fund or the Arkansas Made Fund.
