MISSION
Founded in 2012 by young professionals, the mission of Opera in the Rock (OITR) is to enrich culture in Arkansas through professional opera performances emphasizing collaboration and diversity and building future audiences for this rich art form.
The corporation fosters and promotes opera as both entertainment and education, while giving local performers the opportunity to use their talents to further their careers. OITR enriches the community by collaborating with a diverse range of artists while offering programming that includes both opera and musical performances of all genres from traditional to edgy and fun.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES:
• Consider a season sponsorship: Sponsorships begin at $250 with perks that include tickets, access to cast parties and even private opera concerts in your home.
• Audition: OITR is always looking for new talent to showcase in our operas and special events.
• Buy tickets: The 2019-20 season includes “Souvenir: A Fantasia on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins,” the annual Opera on the Rocks gala and a full-scale production of Verdi’s “La Traviata” at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre on May 28, 29 and 31.
