Thea Foundation’s 2019 Slam Poetry Scholarship Competition winners pose together. Each year, Thea Foundation hosts six different scholarship competitions in visual arts, performing arts, creative writing, slam poetry, fashion design and film.

MISSION

Thea Foundation’s mission is to advocate the importance of the arts in the development of our youth. Three programs are implemented statewide to support this mission: Thea scholarships, Art Closet and Arts Reconstruction.

Since 2002, Thea Foundation has awarded more than $2.3 million in scholarships to Arkansas students and provided more than $1.5 million in art supplies and creative materials to underfunded schools through the Art Closet program.

GIVING OPPORTUNITIES:

For as little as $6 a month, the cost of a pack of colored pencils, you could make a real, long-term impact furthering the arts in Arkansas schools. When you become a supporter of Thea Foundation’s Renaissance Club, your monthly, tax-deductible donation provides continual support of Thea’s mission to advocate the arts in the education of Arkansas’ youth.

On Dec. 6, 2019, you’re invited to take part in Thea Foundation’s Annual Giving Day. This date is at the heart of the organization as it is the birthday of Thea Kay Leopoulos, who the organization is named for. Help continue Thea Foundation’s mission and help enrich young minds through the power of the arts.
