Pour a glass of rye whiskey because Rock Town Distillery is turning nine. The distillery situated in SoMa will celebrate the big anniversary on Saturday, June 22, from 11 a.m. to midnight with a full day of tours, barbecue and a very special whiskey.
Mr. Mason's Pit Bar-B-Q will be serving up tasty barbecue, and cocktails and local craft beer will be available in Rock Town's tasting room. Free tours of the distillery will start every hour on the hour from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The distillery will also unveil its ninth anniversary whiskey, Rock Town's first bottling of Arkansas Single Malt. The malt is distilled from 100% malted barley and aged for two years in ex-bourbon casks and finished for one year in a cognac cask.
If you want to learn more about the intricacies of distilling and develop your whiskey palette, Rock Town will also hold a ninth anniversary masterclass held by founder and head distiller Phil Brandon. The seated tasting will teach the public about Rock Town's award-winning whiskeys, how they're produced and how to taste them properly. The tasting starts at 6:30 p.m. on June 22. Space is limited, so make your reservation online today.
