An event dedicated to women creatives? We're there.

The first-ever Women Make Arkansas Market at the Bernice Garden on May 30 will mark the debut of the new book by Erin Wood, "Women Make Arkansas: Conversations with 50 Creatives." The evening will spotlight the creations and talents of the women featured in the book.

There will also be live entertainment by Shannon Wurst, Rena Wren and others and food trucks from Loblolly Creamery, Lost Forty Brewing and Low Ivy Catering. This first year of the market will only feature the creatives that are part of Wood's book, but the hope is that the market will grow to include even more women in the future.

Wood's book, published by Et Alia Press, is on sale now. "Women Make Arkansas" includes a wide range of crafts from an Arkansas Poet Laureate and kombucha brewer to a fire performer and a hatter. The women share their stories, their creative processes and how they quiet self-doubt.
