Africa Day Fest is back for round three of street festival fun on May 25. The free and family-friendly fest was created to celebrate African arts and culture through music, food, fashion, performances and children's activities.
“We are thrilled to bring Africa to Little Rock,” says Benito Lubazibwa, founder of Africa Day Fest. “Our goal is to share and celebrate our rich, diverse and colorful cultures. This is a street festival like no other.”
The fest kicks off on May 24 with the second annual Made in Africa: Fashion Show at the Junction Bridge. The event will feature African fashion designs from Korto Momolu, Freddie Reynolds and Missy Temeke along with African hors d'oeuvres.
The event will take place in Little Rock's SoMa neighborhood from 13th to 16th streets. Africa Day Fest kicks off at 11 a.m. on May 25 with an assortment of vendors, food trucks, live music from Bijoux, Rodney Block, DJ Nick Hud, drummers from Burundi and much more.
