Wildwood Park for the Arts is gearing up for its 11th annual Lanterns! Festival on Feb. 15-17. The annual deep-winter festival celebrates the first full moon of the lunar new year.
Held over three magical evenings, guests are transported to faraway lands and times as they stroll through the lit pathways of Wildwood’s gardens. Each year, Lanterns! spotlights different cultural destinations and time periods throughout the park. These cultural vistas feature live entertainment, food, drink, games and more throughout the park.
The 2019 vistas include Germany, Mexico, China, Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom. The American vista will be a rip-roaring good time set in Prohibition Chicago. As always, a trip to the moon will be on the weekend's agenda, but this year will introduce Area 51 and maybe an alien or two.
Once guests are inside the park, they can purchase WildBucks at four locations and enjoy food and beverages at every vista. All proceeds support Wildwood Park for the Arts’ programs, gardens and operations.
Shuttles will run between The Promenade at Chenal and Wildwood Park each night from 6 p.m. until 30 minutes past the festival’s closing. Off-street parking is also available along Denny Road in front of Wildwood Park.
Tickets to the Lanterns! Festival are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12, with free admission for children 5 and under. Tickets at the gate are $12 for adults and $7 for children.
