First-place winning student team of the year-long 2017-18 Stock Market Game.

MISSION

Founded in 1962 as a private, non-partisan, educational nonprofit organization, Economics Arkansas equips pre-K-12 schools with standards-based resources and Professional Development to teach economics, personal finance and the free enterprise system.

We use practical, innovative and inspiring methods so that Arkansas students can master an understanding of economics and personal finance and apply that knowledge for success in our free market economy. This education empowers students to acquire the marketable job skills, sound decision-making skills and money management skills necessary to thrive as adults. They will know how our world works and what they need to do to earn success as engaged, responsible and caring citizens, consumers and members of the workforce.

Our trainings, programs and resources are project-based, grade-appropriate, innovative and approved for Professional Development credit by the Arkansas Department of Education. By teaching teachers, who in turn teach students, we maximize our impact exponentially.

The Economics Arkansas Foundation was launched in 2016 with a $2 million lead gift from the Walton Family Foundation to ensure the organization’s long-term viability.

Arkansas Reads One Book is a fun financial literacy project for the whole family.
