It's a summer cinema miracle.

The wonderful powers that be behind Movies in the Park — a series of free outdoor movie nights at the First Security Amphitheater — just announced two additional screenings for the 2018 schedule.

While the lineup should have ended on July 25 with a screening of the 2017 remake of "Beauty and the Beast," you now have two more weeks to stretch out your summer fun.

  • Aug. 1: "School of Rock" (Rescheduled from rained out movie, PG-13)
  • Aug. 8:  "Breaking Legs" (special back-to-school showing)

Movies are shown at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.), and guests are invited to bring their own chairs or blankets, or get there early to snag one of the theater seats.

Families, pets and picnic baskets (but no glass containers) are all invited to enjoy the movies under the stars. An adult must accompany all children under the age of 18, and an ID is required.
