AAC’s Art of Fashion Lecture Series Announces Summer Lineup

The Arkansas Arts Center’s Art of Fashion Lecture series heats up this summer with two exceptional designers, Leonard Choo and Dallas Shaw.

Choo, a professional costume designer and fabric shopper for the New York City Ballet, will discuss his process of shopping and designing ballet costumes. Choo will educate the audience on how these beautiful, dimensional garments begin their lives and travel from the sewing machine to the stage. The lecture will take place at the AAC on Thursday, June 7, with a wine reception at 5:30 p.m. and the lecture at 6.

Shaw is an artist, project designer and style ambassador to some of the most powerful fashion houses. In her Aug.24 lecture, Shaw will discuss her career and her recent book “The Way She Wears It: The Ultimate Insider’s Guide to Revealing Your Personal Style.” After the lecture at 6 p.m., guests are invited to get a sneak peek at the Art Center’s 2018-2019 Artmobile exhibition “Who, What, Wear.”

Tickets are $10 for non-members and free for AAC members. Seating is limited and reservations are required. These events are presented by Little Rock Soirée, so be sure to say “hi” if you see us! For more information, head to the AAC’s website
