If you haven't made it out to Little Rock's new cinema-eatery, now is the perfect opportunity. The Movie Tavern Little Rock is celebrating its first-ever location in Arkansas with a free screening of "The Sandlot."
This grand opening event on Saturday, April 14, will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas. The event starts at 11 a.m. with kid-friendly activities including a caricature artist, balloons, a photo booth and more, lasting until 2:30 p.m. The movie will start at 12:45 p.m. Guests will reserve seats by visiting the box office upon arrival, so be sure to get there early enough to snag a spot.
"The Little Rock community has been extremely welcoming to Movie Tavern since we first opened our doors in January," Southern Theatres director of marketing and communications Dar Hackbarth said. "This special grand opening event and family fun day is our way of saying 'thank you' to our loyal guests in Arkansas, while giving the entire family a fun Saturday afternoon at the theatre."
Guests can order from Movie Tavern’s menu featuring gourmet entrées, salads, specialty sandwiches and pizzas. The Movie Tavern also offers a wide range of adult beverages and cocktails, including the Titanic Tea and Blue Thing Margarita.
"The Sandlot" is part of Movie Tavern’s special Summer Kids’ Flick series, which features family friendly films at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in June. Films to be shown include "Trolls," "Sing," "Boss Baby" and "Despicable Me 3."
