Blue Nyla Yoga to Host Kitten Yoga Class and Adopt-a-Thon

Sorry downward dogs, this one’s for the kitties.

Blue Nyla Yoga recently announced a Kitten Yoga Class and Adopt-a-Thon on April 21 and people are excited. Rightly so. Owner Stacey Reynolds says she’s already gotten so much feedback that she’s working on getting two classes set up instead of one.

Out of the Woods Animal Rescue will be supplying the kittens, and all of the proceeds from the class’ $20 fee will go toward Out of the Woods. Kittens will be available for adoption on the day of the event (no waiting to bring your new fluffy friend home with you!).

“The idea hit me when my studio manager posted a funny puppy yoga video on my [Facebook] page,” Reynolds says. “We are both huge animal lovers and I have Zeppelin, our studio therapy dog, and we all just love animals. When she posted, I called her immediately and said, ‘Let’s do this! But let’s raise money for the organization.'”

The idea of a yoga class filled with adorable baby kittens running around is almost too much cuteness to handle. And Reynolds already knows that the kittens will be running the show during the class.

“I have thought a lot already about how this will look,” she says. “They will have the ‘floor,’ literally. It’s all about them, what they want to do. But most certainly I think Shavasana will be a really special experience for those fortunate to have a kitten decide to land on their mat to rest. Or wrestle! You just never know!”

Cue the heart melts.

Kittens will be on deck at Blue Nyla Yoga from 1-5 p.m. on April 21. Yoga classes will be from 2-3 p.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m. For more details about the class and what to expect, head to the Facebook event page
