Soirée looks back on 20 years of the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas, the only statewide foundation focused solely on women and girls.

1998

Arkansas Business Publishing Group CEO Olivia Farrell and Arkansas Community Foundation (ACF) President Pat Lile head a group of prominent female leaders in the charge to improve women's lives through education and philanthropy.

1999

Functioning under ACF, the Women's Foundation of Arkansas lays the groundwork for its first Girls of Promise conference inspiring middle school girls to pursue futures in science, technology, engineering and math.

2002

The WFA becomes its own 501(c)(3) organization, enabling the nonprofit to individually apply for grants to fund future projects for women and girls in Arkansas.

2008

Power of the Purse, the WFA's annual signature fundraising luncheon, marks its 10th anniversary.

2013

The WFA compiles a comprehensive report on the status of women in Arkansas, the first of its kind since 1973.

2018

Since launching its first grant-making cycle in 1999, the WFA passes the $220,000 mark in dollars awarded to more than 80 programs.
