Every year, the Children's Advocacy Centers of Arkansas honor a woman who has worked for effective change in bettering the lives of children across the state with its Arkansas Woman of Inspiration award.
This year, the honor will go to Shelley McMillon at the annual event on Friday, Oct. 19 at the Statehouse Convention Center in downtown Little Rock, where Heather McKim and Charles Redfield will serve as event co-chairs.
Rep. DeAnn Vaught will also receive the nonprofit's Blue Ribbon Award, which goes to a victim of trauma abuse who works to bring awareness to the topic of child abuse and neglect.
At the event, guests will enjoy dinner, a silent auction and a runway fashion show presented by Barbara/Jean, which will include designs from Lourdes Chavez's fall/winter collection.
Proceeds from the event will go to Children's Advocacy Centers to assist in their efforts to serve abused and neglected children. Learn more about the organization here.
