Listen up, ladies. There’s a new boutique in town and shopping never felt so right.
Live Thankfully Little Rock is a volunteer-led, upscale resale shop that features greatly reduced prices on gently used ladies clothing, jewelry, shoes, accessories and home décor. Savvy shoppers have found items from the likes of Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, Trina Turk and even Kate Spade for $10 and Coach for $50.
Located at 10020 N Rodney Parham Road behind Terri Lynn’s BBQ, Live Thankfully Little Rock is the long-time dream of Kimberly Cook, a mom of three teenagers who dedicates 100 percent of the proceeds from the shop to help local teens and women in crisis.
The profits are divided equally between two local nonprofit organizations, Immerse Arkansas and Young Lives. Immerse Arkansas supports teens who are aging out of the state’s foster care system by teaching them life skills so they are better prepared to live independently when they become legal adults at age 18.
Young Lives is an extension of Young Life, a Christian-based mentoring and support program for adolescents. Young Lives directly supports teenage mothers by tutoring them to help ensure they graduate from high school so they can secure a job to help support their children. Cook also is working to create specific programs that will benefit women in crisis.
“We all have the ability to be a caring contributor to our community, and even the smallest of gestures we can make to help women and children in crisis can make a lasting impact on their lives,” Cook says. “Our hope is that the community sees what we’re doing as more than a mission; it’s a lifestyle of caring for others, regardless of their need.”
Daily donations keep the shop’s inventory ever changing. Cook says donations don’t have to be of a designer label, only gently worn. Keep an eye on their Instagram for sneak peeks at the newest items.
Live Thankfully is open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Wednesday - Friday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday. Follow along on Facebook for more details.
