Cinderella Wants You to Donate Your Formal Gowns

Cleaning out your closet in 2017? Cinderella is here to help. And yes, we mean that literally.

Celebrity Attractions‘ production of the classic tale of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” takes the Robinson Center stage Jan. 13-15. And as our sister publication Little Rock Family reported, the show is teaming up with the local organization Cinderella’s Closet to collect donations of gently used formal gowns.

Based out of Philander Smith College, the organization (whose mission is to “turn dresses into dreams”) collects donated dresses, allowing underprivileged students to “shop” for a free dress to wear to their proms.

But they don’t just take gowns. Bring your shoes, purses, wraps and jewelry to donate to Cinderella’s Closet at each performance. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

You can learn more about Cinderella’s Closet on their website and on Facebook.

“Cinderella” performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. For full information, visit the Celebrity Attractions website or call (501) 244-8800.
