If you've kept a flawless track record for summertime training, you've probably already saved the date. But even if you haven't been the picture of perfect running all season, you have nothing to fear. The Little Rock Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Little Rockers Kids Marathon are officially back to welcome you with open arms.
The 22nd annual race weekend is set for March 2-3, 2024, and registration is now open. Registration is also open for this year's Creep 'N' Crawl half marathon and 5K on Oct. 21 and the Ugly Sweater Race 5K on Dec. 16, both of which are put on by the Little Rock Marathon.
After their annual game of teasing followers on social media, the team also just announced the theme for 2024, and they're turning back the clocks to celebrate dinosaurs, cavemen and all things prehistoric with "DinoMite," meaning it's time to dust off those saber-toothed tiger pelt running shorts.
The Little Rock Marathon — known for its dinner plate-sized medals — returned to its springtime schedule in 2023 after cancellations and postponements in recent years. In 2024, the 5K and 10K will take place on Saturday morning, followed by the kids' race, while the full and half marathons are set for Sunday. For those who need even more of a test, you can take part in The Challenge by completing the 5K or 10K on Saturday and the half marathon or marathon on Sunday.
The race sells out almost every year, so we suggest marking your calendar and signing up sooner rather than later. There's even a free training program, which you can learn more about here.
