If you've kept a flawless track record for summertime training, bless you, brave souls. But even if you haven't been the picture of perfect running all season, you have nothing to fear. The Little Rock Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Little Rockers Kids Marathon are officially back to welcome you with open arms.
The 21st annual race weekend is set for March 4-5, 2023, and registration for is open now. There's even a free training program, which you can learn more about here.
"We are very encouraged by the early turn out we’re seeing with registration," executive director Geneva Lamm said, noting the previous two events were limited in capacity due to COVID-19 protocols. "Fingers crossed that this year we can start moving back toward a full capacity event."
After their annual game of teasing the general populace on social media, the team also recently announced the theme for 2023: "Peace, Love and Little Rock Marathon," meaning it's time to dust off your grooviest running gear.
The Little Rock Marathon — known for its dinner plate-sized medals — is officially back on its springtime schedule. The 5K and 10K will take place on Saturday morning, followed by the kids' race, while the full and half marathons are set for Sunday. For the crazies out there, you can also take part in The Challenge by completing the 5K or 10K on Saturday and the half marathon or marathon on Sunday.
No word yet on limited capacity protocols, but seeing as the race sells out almost every year, we suggest signing up sooner rather than later.
