In 2014, FOX16 News anchor Donna Terrell hosted the first-ever Donna Terrell’s Yoga Warriors Fighting Colon Cancer, a community-wide free yoga event for all fitness levels. Terrell’s daughter, Queah, found strength and comfort in yoga while she battled colon cancer before passing away in March 2011.

"I saw how practicing yoga helped Queah feel better during her treatment and it made me realize how impactful yoga can be while battling a serious illness," Terrell says. "My hope is to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga during cancer treatment and recovery during this annual event while also supporting those in our community fighting the disease."

Past events allowed Yoga Warriors to give thousands of dollars to CARTI and the 20th Century Club, helping to provide liquid nutrition to those battling cancer.

After canceling the 2020 event, Terrell is back again this year with more yoga warriors, bigger and better than before, with yogis Stacey Reynolds from Blue Yoga Nyla and Sarah Thomas Pilcher from Arkansas Yoga Collective leading the flow. Along with a free, one-hour yoga session for all levels, there will also be giveaways, raffles and yoga accessories for sale to help raise funds for the cause.

The 2021 spring event will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, at MacArthur Park in downtown Little Rock. Admission is free, and guests are invited to bring their own mat.
