How does chatting about vintage fashion over a bit of afternoon tea sound? If you’re as intrigued as we are, keep reading.
Caro Nan purses were all the rage (you remember, the carefully decorated baskets?) a few decades ago, and now Esse Purse Museum is celebrating these nostalgic pieces with a new/old event in SoMa, Tea and ‘Tiques.
On Sunday, April 3, the museum will host Caro Nan designers Carolyn McDaniel and Nancy Steele for a conversation about Esse’s coordinating exhibit and what it was like to have a hand in guiding purse design in the 60s and 70s.
Neighbors Moxy Modern Mercantile, South Main Creative, Sweet Home and Clement are also getting in on the fun so that guests can make a day of it in SoMa.
The Caro Nan exhibit opens on Tuesday, March 22. Museum hours are 11 a.m. -4 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Tickets will be available at the door, but there’s an early bird rate for guests who purchase tickets ahead of time. Click here to claim yours.
As an added fun twist, Esse is asking that guests of the Caro Nan exhibit bring art supplies to benefit Ms. Angela Norton’s art classes at Franklin Elementary.
