Saints & Sinners Birthday Bash Takes Flight Saturday

Bust out the birthday hats, it’s finally here! Saints and Sinners, the Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s largest annual fundraiser, returns this Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Statehouse Convention Center Wally Allen Ballroom.

Normally, this yearly event is no ordinary black-tie gala, but this year’s is a particularly special affair as it celebrates The Rep’s 40th mainstage season with fabulous birthday flair. Along with dinner, drinks and the live and silent auctions, guests will also enjoy music, dancing and a few tricks up the theater’s sleeves. The best part of the evening, however, is the entertainment provided by none other than the all-star crew of The Rep.

“Our 40th anniversary season is a yearlong birthday celebration of our rich, 40-year history in the community,” Producing Artistic Director Bob Hupp said. “With more than 600 of our closest friends and supporters joining us for Saints and Sinners, we found it fitting to continue that celebration and make this year’s gala our most extravagant 40th birthday party.”

In our January issue, we featured this year’s Saints & Sinners chairs Mark and Sonya Murphy, the passion they have for The Rep and the unique vision they bring to the event.

“This city has so many incredible nonprofits, leaders and volunteers, but this group gets to literally pick up from 601 Main, take it to the Statehouse and show 600 people who they are and what they do,” Sonya says.
