Let there be lights!

Holiday lights always manage to illuminate our Christmas spirit. Thanks to our sister publication, Little Rock Family, we know where to go to put even the biggest Grinch in a merry and bright mood.

Here's a look at holiday light displays in the metro:

A Trail of Holiday Lights at Sherwood's Enchanted Forest

Drive through this mile-long trail of lights in Sherwood Forest to spot more than 90 brightly-lit displays. The entrance is at Sherwood Sports Complex, 511 Bear Paw Road. Admission is free but nonperishable items, donated to local food pantries, are welcome.

Open from 6-9:30 p.m. through Dec. 30. For info call 501.413.8030 or visit cityofsherwood.net

Arkansas State Capitol in Downtown Little Rock

Traditionally following the Big Jingle Jubilee Holiday Parade (but not this year because 2020), the State Capitol will be illuminated in its annual holiday display. The lighting ceremony on Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m. will include an amazing fireworks show.

Holiday lights will shine each night through Jan. 1. For details, call 501.682.1010 or visit sos.arkansas.gov.

Holidays on Main

Look no further for the perfect photo spot than Main Street downtown. Brought to you from the same team behind Shadows on Sixth, Holidays on Main is a COVID-safe winter wonderland featuring a high-tech tree in Union Plaza, holiday scenes, lights and décor. You can stroll (please wear masks and distance) or drive-thru this free attraction.

Drive by from 5-10 p.m. each night through Jan. 4. For more info, check out the Facebook event.

Lights on Jupiter Christmas Light Show in North Little Rock

Lights on Jupiter’s mission is to "lighten, brighten and heighten" the holiday season for central Arkansas. Come enjoy more than 50,000 flashing lights on two decked-out neighboring houses in North Little Rock. To take control of the lights and pick your favorite music mix, just donate to the Hearts4Holidays project, which supports giving local older adults Christmas presents.

Head to 15401 Szymanski Road from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday or 5:30-10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday through Jan. 4, except in heavy rain. For info, visit lightsonjupiter.org.

Worth the Drive: Hot Springs Holiday Lights on Bathhouse Row

More than 1,000,000 lights await down Central Ave. in this annual light display along Bathhouse Row in downtown Hot Springs. (We always love the Arlington lawn.)

Holiday lights are on display through Jan. 5.  (closed Christmas Day). For more info, call 501.321.2277 or visit hotsprings.org.
