Movies in the Park Kicks Off Wednesday with ‘Divergent’

It’s finally back!

It’s been almost a month since Movies in the Park announced its summer lineup of feature flicks. The outdoor free movie night at the First Security Amphitheater in the River Market is a local favorite (because duh) and we’re dying to bust out the popcorn.

Starting off with a bang is the 2014 dystopian action/adventure film “Divergent,” which is rated PG-13. This season’s lineup of blockbuster movies includes classics like “The Goonies” and “Ghostbusters,” but also throws in some new favorites like “Despicable Me.”

Showtime is at dusk, so B-Y-O-Blankets (or chairs), or get there early to snag one of the theater seats. Families, pets and picnic baskets (but not glass containers) are all welcome. Whatever you do, don’t forget the bug spray. DEET is your friend.

Check out all the full list of movies here. Learn more about this season here, or by calling the River Market at (501) 375-2552. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter for updates.
