Nothing is better than vegging out on the couch after a huge Thanksgiving feast, watching football through a bleary, tryptophan-induced haze, right?
To help you earn a few more minutes on the couch, Go! Running’s annual Go!bbler Turkey Trot is back, hitting the streets in The Heights on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24.
This event has become a tradition for many central Arkansans with great costumes, photos with Santa, giveaways, Tom’s Tiny Trot for the kids and more family fun along your choice of 3-, 4- or 6.5- mile courses.
The best part? This community event always brings in tons of donations for the Arkansas Foodbank, and this year is no different. The entry fee is canned goods, non-perishable food items or monetary donations, but you can also drop off donations the two weeks before Thanksgiving at Little Rock Athletic Club locations.
"We feel the Go!bbler Turkey Trot is important, both for Arkansas Foodbank and the local community, to come together in a healthy environment giving thanks in a way that only runners and walkers can," Go! Running owner Gary Taylor said of the 2021 event. "We hope active families will come out together to enjoy exercising and giving before the holiday."
It all kicks off with the Tiny Trot at 7:50 a.m. For more information on the event and Foodbank donations, head to Go! Running's website and follow the fun on Facebook and Instagram.
