Your Ultimate Guide to Halloween in Little Rock

It’s heeeere. We know you’re busy carving pumpkins and putting together costumes, so we did the research. There are a ton of fantastically spooky things happening this month that you need to know about, so you keep carving, and we’ll go through it all speed-dating style.

Spooky Series: Family-Friendly Classics & Scary Movies

Why: This might come as a shock, but this hit musical comedy is equal parts creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky. More here.

 

Science After Dark: Nightmare at the Museum

Why: Guillotine tinkering, potion brewing, zombie shooting — it’s all in a day’s work for a mad scientist. More here.

 

Carnival Bizarre

Where: Arkansas Repertory Theatre

When: Oct. 13, 8 p.m.

Why: Back for its fourth year, this Arkansas Circus Arts event combines circus, sideshow and burlesque theatrics for a night of spine-tingling fun. More here.

 

“Wait Until Dark”

Where: The Weekend Theater

When: Oct. 13-29

Why: This classic thriller puts the audience in the shoes of a blind woman fending off criminals who break into her home and will have you on the edge of your seatMore here.

 

Howl-o-Ween Parties in the Plaza

Where: Little Rock Zoo

When: Oct. 14, 21 & 28 

Why: Right this way, tiny creatures. Head to the zoo to get in on all-day events like magic shows, arts and crafts, yoga, princess meet-and-greets and showing off your costume to your favorite animals. More here.

 

Rooftop Cinema: “Hocus Pocus”

Where: Roof of the parking deck at the corner of Sixth and Scott streets

When: Oct. 18, 6:30 p.m.

“Ghouls Gone Wild”

Where: The Public Theatre

When: Oct. 19-21, 8 p.m.

Why: Hosted by the often bawdy, always funny Red Octopus Theater Co., this isn’t your mother’s Halloween sketch comedy show. More here.

Where: The Promenade at Chenal

Spooky Soirée 2023

Where: Mosaic Templars Cultural Center

When: Oct. 21, 7 p.m.

Why: The Greater Little Rock Chapter of Jack and Jill of America is hosting this first-ever bash with music, drinks and costumes for charity, and they’re ready to get ghoulish at a “Nightmare on Ninth Street.” More here.
