Pinky Punky Closing Its Doors with 50 Percent-Off Sale

Pinky Punky, the longtime west Little Rock clothing boutique, is going out of business after almost 40 years with a 50 percent-off sale on all store merchandise.

ArkansasBusiness.com reported Tuesday afternoon owners Caroline Cossey and Lou New would be shutting its doors on June 29.

A tenant of Breckenridge Village for 35 years until moving to Pleasant Ridge Town Center in 2010, Pinky Punky was known for its “fun” clothing. Here’s more from ArkansasBusiness.com:

“We didn’t sell anything to wear to work. We didn’t sell anything to wear to church,” Cossey said. “It was just fun stuff. If you’re going on a trip and you wanted something fun. If you were going out that night and you wanted something fun.”

“If they were going to Vegas, you can bet that they were coming here,” Cossey said of her customers.

The store also sold “short, sassy cocktail dresses” and long evening gowns and was a player in the central Arkansas prom scene, along with charity events and other dress-up occasions.

Cossey says health reasons are her main factors for closing the business.
