Patricia Blick probably knows a thing or two more about Arkansas history than you. But that’s not too surprising after taking a look at her impressive resume.
Before being named the executive director of the Quapaw Quarter Association (QQA) in January, Blick served as the assistant director of the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program. Blick was also the chief of historic preservation for the city of Annapolis, Maryland, before moving to Arkansas.
According to our sister publication, Arkansas Business, Blick was immersed in history at a young age. She grew up on property that at one time had been part of Mount Vernon Estate. She would later spend several years working at the historic site.
“Mount Vernon survived due to very early work of preservationists,” Blick said. “That experience was the single greatest influence on my decision to work in the preservation field.”
Blick is currently gearing up for this year’s QQA Spring Tour of Homes, set for Mother’s Day weekend, May 13-14.
