Olympic Exhibit Comes to Clinton Presidential Center

U-S-A! U-S-A!

Who doesn’t love a hearty chant of your homeland? We’re already working on ours before the Olympics Games kick off in Brazil this summer.

To help get us even more excited, the Clinton Presidential Center is bringing the days of Olympic glory past to Little Rock. On Saturday, March 12, the “American Champions: The Quest for Olympic Glory” exhibit will open to the public.

The exhibit features stories, photos, film and memorabilia from American Olympians and Paralympians, including the basketball signed by 1996 women’s gold medal basketball team and presented to President Clinton and Peggy Fleming’s dress from her 1968 gold medal Olympic performance, as well as a life-sized replica of the bobsled used by Team Night Train, the four-man USA bobsled team.

The exhibit’s split into two portions: the Summer Games in the temporary gallery on the second floor and the Winter Games in the Garden View Room on the first floor. And like any 5-ring event, it will begin with the carrying of a torch from city hall to the Clinton Center at 10 a.m., which spectators can watch from the sidewalks of downtown.

“American Champions: The Quest for Olympic Glory” opens March 12 and runs through Sept. 11. For more info, click here.
