Oaklawn is getting a dose of color this weekend.
On Friday, April 30, the Hot Springs race track will host Pink Out Day to help raise breast cancer awareness. This event coincides with the traditional event of the same name at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Oaks Day.
Guests are encouraged to don their finest pink clothing and will have a chance to learn more from local cancer specialists who will be set up onsite, including the UAMS mobile mammography unit.
“This is an event Oaklawn looks forward to growing in years to come,” says Oaklawn Vice President of Marketing Joan Botts, also a breast cancer survivor. “We appreciate all of the support we have received from our partners, and we cannot wait to see everyone wearing pink [on] Friday!”
Gates open at 9 a.m. and the first race begins at 12:30 p.m. For more information, visit the Oaklawn website.
