Oaklawn Debuts Racing Club

Right down the road in Hot Springs, Oaklawn Racing and Gaming is making it easier than ever to get in on the action.

The Oaklawn Racing Club is a brand new program that allows members a “low-risk, low-cost” way to experience thoroughbred ownership. By purchasing a share of a horse, members will be part of the process as Oaklawn trainer Ron Moquett molds an unraced two-year-old, hoping to then start the thoroughbred one or two times this fall in preparation for its three-year-old season.

“This is a great way for a racing fan to get the experience without all the risks that can come with owning a thoroughbred,” Moquett said in a press release. “We look forward to having a lot of fun with the group and their horse.”

Membership includes tons of behind-the-scenes peeks at the training process, like regular email updates, exclusive social media access, club events and two reserved seats each time the horse runs, excluding Rebel Stakes and Arkansas Derby days.

The Oaklawn Racing Club will open to the public at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9. You can find the full membership details here.
