Entries Accepted for Arkansas’ First Phoneography Exhibit at Mugs Café

If you’re like me, your cell phone has become your go-to option for all of your picture-taking.

Now, some are taking that to a whole new level and are looking to showcase mobile photos in a cool new exhibit. On June 20, the Argenta Arts & Entertainment District’s monthly ArtWalk will have an unusual addition housed at Mugs Café, 515 main St., North Little Rock: an exhibit that only features photos taken and edited by mobile devices.

Tommy Wallace, associate pastor at Family Life Bible Church in Conway, is the man behind the @ArkMoPhs (Arkansas Mobile Phoneographers) account on Instagram. Featuring only photos shot in Arkansas and shot and edited on a mobile device, @ArkMoPhs is the product of years of interest in mobile photography and a desire to bring Arkansas photographers together.

Wanting to put your best photo forward in the exhibt? They are accepting entries for the exhibit from Instagram users. All you have to do is add the hashtag #arkmophs_exploreark1 to the photos you want to enter by Friday, May 23. Submissions must feature Arkansas people, places or things, square-cropped and are limited to three entries per person. To date, there are 70 entries, though limited space will require the panel of judges to choose a select number.
