Hold on to your plates. One of your favorite brunch places just got way more amazing.
B-Side Bistro has been a local staple on the brunch circuit for years with a menu full of favorites like chicken and waffles, beignets and its infamous bloody mary. The downside to B-Side, however, was its hours — it was only open for brunch on weekends as it shared a space with Chinese restaurant Lilly’s Dim Sum Then Some.
Unfortunately, the time came when it looked like B-Side/Lilly’s would soon be no more after owner Nancy Tesmer moved out of state. That’s where Barbara and Tom Fuge come in.
The couple moved to Little Rock from San Jose, California, three years ago to be closer to family and soon fell in love with the local restaurant scene. When they learned the restaurants were closing — which were two of their favorites — they decided to fulfill a longtime dream of owning a café and purchased the business.
Now the Fuges have reopened the restaurant solely as B-Side, but with a new look and extended hours and offerings. B-Side is now operating from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday to serve breakfast and lunch to hungry crowds, including a new kids menu.
And don’t worry, former Lilly’s and B-Side chef Jeffery Moore is once again at the reins of the kitchen, and he’s bringing new lunch items to the menu. Here’s a peek at some of the latest additions:
- spinach salad with dried cranberries, roasted apples, pecans and a lemon vinaigrette
- crab cake sammy: served on toasted ciabatta with pommes frites, includes one crab cake, creamy parsnip slaw and apple
- Chef Jeffery’s penne: ham, smoked gouda and spinach on a bed of penne with light sauce
- grilled chicken breast sammy: chicken breast on toasted ciabatta with spinach, pineapple, roasted peppers and aioli, served with pommes frites
Whoa.
