New Outdoor Movie Series Kicks Off in Pettaway Square This Week

Outdoor movies always get a strong yes from us, and this fall lineup is no exception.

A new outdoor movie series is coming to the Pettaway neighborhood in the SoMa district on Fridays throughout the fall. Screenings will be held at Pettaway Square at 408 E. 21st St.

The free series will be a family-friendly event with food trucks and free popcorn, where attendees are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the show.

It all kicks off this Friday, Sept. 17, at 6:30 p.m. with “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.” Lili’s Mexican Street Food and Phonzie’s 1 Stop Hog Shop will be onsite with the eats.

Here’s what’s on the rest of the lineup so far:

  • Sept. 24 – “Cars”
  • Oct. 1 – “Jungle Cruise”
  • Oct. 8 – “In The Heights”
  • Oct. 15 – TBA
  • Oct. 22 – TBA
  • Oct. 30 – “The Addams Family”

This is part of plans to develop the Pettaway Square Arts, Entertainment & Community Enrichment Project, complete with apartments, retail, markets and shows. Learn more about the project here.
