New Nonprofit Raises Autism Awareness with April Events

The Arkansas Autism Foundation (AAF) kicks off April with a series of fun events to raise awareness during Autism Awareness Month.

The AAF is a newly founded local nonprofit organization that offers programs, resources and special events to help individuals on the autism spectrum and their families in Arkansas.

“We are families and friends affected by autism spectrum disorder, and we want the community to know that they are not alone,” AAF executive board chairperson Dawn Itzkowitz said. “Our goal is to connect families with the education and resources needed so that their children, no matter what age, will have the best opportunity to enjoy life.”

Here’s the list of events slated throughout the month:

2nd Annual Autism Festival and Walk at War Memorial Stadium

March 31 | 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
