More art, more happiness.
That’s the way we generally feel when it comes to public art in our city. More sculptures by the river? Yes, please. Giant banners to dress up a parking garage? Bring it on. Larger-than-life koi fish in the Creative Corridor? Can’t get enough.
You can imagine how excited we were when, a few months ago, we learned about the new proposed mural for the South Main district. Designed by Fayetteville artist Shannon Norman, the mural will don the side of the United Systems of Arkansas building at the corner of 12th and South Main streets.
In order to raise funds for the project, a Go Fund Me online fundraising account was set up, and is currently only $400 away from its goal of $3,000. If you want to help make it a reality, you can give any amount, large or small. Click here to donate.
Work on the mural is scheduled to begin on Sept. 14.
