Hold on to your chain mail.
To celebrate its 41st season opener Monty Python’s “Spamalot,” the Arkansas Repertory Theatre teamed up with both Loblolly Creamery and Stone’s Throw Brewing to create special treats for audience members.
Yeah, that’s right. We said “treats” — plural.
But it’s up to you to name the “Spamalot”-themed deliciousness (we’re partial to Tim) during the last two weeks of August before the show opens. Two separate contests will be held where the public is invited to submit names online. Once the top five have been selected, everyone gets the chance to vote by liking their favorite name on Facebook. The name with the most likes wins.
Here’s what you need to know:
Ice Cream Contest
- Flavor: vanilla coconut ice cream with toasted coconut flakes
- Submissions: Aug. 15 – 17
- Voting: Aug. 18 – 21
- Prize: a pint of the special flavor and two tickets to “Spamalot”

Beer Contest
- Flavor: English Ordinary infused with elderberries — very easy to drink with a malty flavor, a little bite from the hops and tartness from the elderberries
- Submissions: Aug. 22 – 24
- Voting: Aug. 25 – 28
- Prize: a growler of the special beer and two tickets to “Spamalot”

You can find the beer at Stone’s Throw and the ice cream at Loblolly throughout the play’s run, Aug. 31- Oct. 2, as well as at The Rep.
